I don't speak Portuguese but I definitely had a hard time navigating the site. The menu system is really sensitive, and you have to click to see the other options, and try to hit them before they disappear! Pretty decent load times for a flash site though! Have you considered any other layouts?

Just name your page index.html or index.php and the domain should go directly to the file. This is also the default for all directories.

Couldn't you simply start out with regular old Google ads to begin with? I'm not sure whether a site with 'you ad here' signs, makes the impression that the site has a lot of visitors. Also Google image ads give a bit more color to the page. This is just an observation though. :)

I can guess that it's just some character encoding issue. Try to remove your.. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> part, and add this.. <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" /> to the head section. I don't know if that'll work but it definitely won't upset...

It's definitely worth it if you're going to do more web design in the future as well, though CSS alone isn't going to make your site much more advanced. What kind of site are you going for anyway? :)

Do you mean the standard border that appears whenever you press a link, or something else? If you click and hold a link in IE or FF there's always a dotted black border around the element. I may be misinterpreting what you meant though.
