Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated. Lol at the first reply, I suppose this can happen.

I'm researching the web design process at the minute to help with planning websites before actually doing anything design/develop related. The first part of the process is getting to know the client, their business and asking questions specifically about there business and other general...

Google hover states with fireworks and PDFs, see what comes up.

thanks for that link, found a couple of sites like that, which explain about the process step by step. Thanks.

Phreaddee, thanks very much, very insightful and helped me a lot. Good idea on the testing side of things. A few questions if you don't mind, although i will be reading up on them. What is the scope? What's an html wireframe? Is this prototyping with html, ie: not using that darn photoshop to...

LOL I'm an information gatherer. I like opinions and thoughts.

nobody willing to share?

I've been doing a lot of research on the Web Design Process and finding out how I should implement it properly. I'm really curious to know what your process is from start to finish. If anyone is generous enough to share their process can you please include detailed explanation of each step...

I finally finished learning XHTML & CSS from the head first book I bought. Now I know that I need to put all this into practice and I need some advice on what I should be doing. Currently I have started on my own portfolio website and I will think of other ideas to practice the code side...

I've been learning bits and bobs of css and The Cascade was being explained. If I have a <h1> element on a page and i want to know the font-size property for it I have to go through a 5 step process with a numbers game and so on. This is mind boggling and I have no idea why I would want to...

I found this article ( http://www.boxesandarrows.com/view/prototyping-with ) last night when researching prototyping for web design. The planning process of a website is an important step to make sure the website is built to highest standard the client is looking for. Prototyping with...

Can anyone explain how to use a css framework? I've been looking at a couple and can't understand how you actually use one. The different style sheets that come with them - what do you do with them? Copy and paste it in your style sheet? I cant grasp what you actually do. Hope this...

Ok the first couple of questions I would ask would be: What is the purpose of your website for? What type of visitors do you expect? - For instance it could be a website about skateboarding, so therefor it would be attracting young teenagers mostly and anyone who is interested in the world of...

Have you read the fireworks book? Is it a rough guide or does it delve into everything?

Found these two articles on the web last night, I have to say they are quite amazing little articles which introduce us to what is known as Responsive Web Design. http://www.alistapart.com/articles/responsive-web-design/ http://www.studiopress.com/design/beginners-guide-responsive-design.htm...

cs4 or cs5, cs5 is better than cs4 but cs4 can do most of what cs5 can do.

Search through amazon for good books.

Thanks for the info guys, really opened my eyes a bit. Although most people are saying dive in and use fireworks, i have followed a couple of website design tutorials for fireworks and its all pretty lost in the woods stuff. Your looking around for things, not sure you have done them correctly...

Forgot to add - Would it be more justifiable that i create headers, footers and the whole design with css? Is this easier or better? Will it look as nice and respectable?

Can anyone recommend any sites or books where I can learn to use Adobe Fireworks CS5? I plan on using this software for mock-ups, designing layouts ie, headers, footers, navigation, logos and buttons once I've mastered html and css. Also is it best to learn how to use the program from...
