Some of the text is styled @font-face. There's a header, body and sidebar above the fold- I don't understand how you had trouble finding content, since this is such a common layout... How would you rearrange things differently?

    Free Software review

There's nothing wrong with your browser- there are a few apps I haven't added descriptions to yet, and the <hr/>'s that are dynamically added when loaded into the content container don't display on the individual page. The idea of listing supported OS's is a good one - while I'm not really...

    Free Software review

This list works for me because it's all freeware or open-source - no shareware - and rather than listing every possible app available I've tried to list the best for specific functionality I'm not saying it's the best software list evar, but I'd like it to be which is why I posted asking for...

need help with a javascript function

I like the ajaxify plugin for jQuery ~ makes this stupid simple, though I rewrote the script to open content based on the 'rel' attribute rather than 'target', since the latter is deprecated html...

    open source for magazine

A word of advice: Wordpress is a great cms for your weblog, but Drupal or Joomla! would be a much better choice as a portal CMS & both have loads of templates / modules available. Personally, I'm liking the MODx cms since it gives much more control over the site's design/dev...

    Band site review.

Yep... You'll want to scale the image in an image editor rather than just change the display size. Also, your links are terribly difficult to see- try another color!

    Help with Platform compatibility

Trial & Error: Microshaft ignores the W3C's standards and therefore, as a designer, you will learn to loathe their browser. Try making changes to positioning attributes first (relative or absolute), z-index, etc. until it works

Div height not setting to 100%

you can call the <script> tag anywhere in the document, most often in the <head> section, but pages will load faster if you call scripts toward the end of the page, just before closing your <body>

    Client Requirement: Spinning Image

Well, frame based animation tools like the Flash IDE or ImageReady work on the same principle as a flip book comic, the only real difference is the format of the output (.swf or .gif). I'd do this in flash - since 200 frames is gonna take a minute or 2 to download, a pre-loader might be a...
