Printing a URL on a shirt

If someone were to google your domain name, whatever it is, does it show up first on google? If so, you can opt for eliminating both the www and the .co.uk. If the domain name is catchy enough, people might google it. Or, you can write below it, "check out our site" so that people know its a...

anna is right about the plagiarism, and about all of her other claims as well here. google this phrase from the OP: Then look at what comes up first. I call plagiarism. -Lou

    Photoshop or Illustrator

Well there's a difference between "Which program do you prefer to use," and "Which is the most popular graphic design program?" The former demands a subjective answer, and the latter an objective one. I voted Illustrator. I use photoshop mostly for resizing, cropping, and optimizing images...

*MONEY CHALLENGE* $5 paypal to whoever can solve this first.

Ok, so I'm working from a template, so there is a lot of coding that is commented out. My problem is this, on the home page, which can be reached here: http://tinyurl.com/236ramg I want to have two testimonial boxes. One on the top right, and one on the lower right. But when I changed the id...

Anyone here every date/marry another web designer?

I know -- strange question. But I think about it now... wouldn't it be fun?! Think about it, when arguing, you can say "You're just as bad as IE6!" You can talk about CSS3, HTML5, browser wars.. I was just thinking that I should date a web designer or developer. Perhaps this belongs in a...

    When should I file taxes?

I worked as an independent contractor many many times, but anna is right here. I kindly accept the rebuke. It is probably not good to listen to pseudo-lawyers in the internet. -Lou

    When should I file taxes?

Well, they are actually obligated to send you one by the end of January, should they choose to do so. With your income bracket, (less than $25,000) only 0.81% of you will get examined. There are close to 60 million people in that bracket in the US. -Lou

    When should I file taxes?

I know that in NY, you only need to claim it if it's $599.00+, but that's per individual account. If you have clients here and there, and they are only amounting to (for example) $400 - $500 each, then you won't be getting a 1099. You can always ask clients upfront "So will I be receiving a 1099...

    Newbie needs basic suggestions?

I just couldn't imagine writing code without Dreamweaver's split-view. If you know a college student, just buy it using their information and give them the money for it -- you'll get a discount. Have you tried Nvu? http://www.net2.com/nvu/ -Lou

I am designing a site, but my client wants to edit it

I think the main, and rather professional question, you should ask him is "Why do you want it done in Flash?" Allow him to make his points, since good salesmen always listen to the customer, but then offer counterpoints regarding why it should be done in HTML5 with some jquery. Tell him about...

should i pick this as a career

It can be great fun at times.. You can charge quite a bit, but clients can be a real hassle. I went into college as a programming major (fluent in C++ when I was 15; 9 years ago).. After two years, I switched my major to Interactive Digital Design, and got my BA. It's great for money, but guess...

What makes a good portfolio site

For the portfolio page, I would definitely use a very nice image gallery that allows the visitor to see pictures of the sites up close, while also allowing them to visit the actual sites without problem. TiltViewer Pro (worth the money) does this rather nicely. -Lou

I'll give $2.50 in paypal to the first person to Fix this IE compatibilty issue

If it turns out that the client was just mistaken (as most are) then I have another challenge for you. Right now I'm reinstalling windows on my old dell as I just had a linux distro on it. If I don't see the white space under it, and there was no problem to begin with, then perhaps you might be...
