I believe this has been solved. Benjamin already use Dave's idea and like everyone said it fits well on the site!

I agree with PixelPusher ... start with a font unless you have a killer idea to begin with. I would look at site like brandsoftheworld to get ideas of powerful logos. From those ideas you can decide what you like and what you don't like.
