    Software homepage review

The image borders should be fixed now, and I got rid of the extra scrollbars on the news and announcements section. I didn't move anything around, but it should look cleaner now.

    CSS Layouts...

Same here. It works quite well and is remarkably easy. Plus, blending JS and CSS can help with dynamic layouts quite a bit, as I used here --> http://timothyb89.homelinux.org/jtelirc_/ ;-) Anyway , the DHTML windows are cool :)

    Software homepage review

I'm making a site for my "most prominent" project. Its still relatively early in development, but I've gotten the template worked out as well as the base system. It doesn't really explain much about the actual software yet, but I'd like to (at least) get it looking nice :) Just a note about the...

Put 2 elements in the same place

Try using CSS for that. Replace the <SOME AMOUNT HERE> text and the examples with your own value. <SPAN ID="link1" style="position: absolute; margin-top: <SOME AMOUNT IN % OR px. Ex: >10%; margin-left: <ANOTHER AMOUNT. EX: >50px"> <A HREF="url1">Click on...

Adding an image border around a <div>

I'm just wondering if anybody has an idea as to how I can go about adding a border of images around a <div> tag? I'm trying to customize a Joomla install and giving the two main sections- the menu and the main area- a face lift with some graphics from a local window manager theme. BTW- I...

    JavaScript Issues...

Ok... So I'm designing a JavaScript (obviously) to User and Password protect a webpage. For some strange reason, it won't run, and I've managed to trace it to a seemingly nonexistant problem on line 27 (with "it (user == user1 || etc, etc) ) So here's my code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC...

Site Review (My title's so unique :) )

It should be a bit better now... I updated it and I'm now using Joomla. It looks a lot better and should be better... Tell me what you think- http://learn-about.uni.cc My host has been down for a while, and I don't know when it'll be back up. They usually go back up in an hour, but it's...

Site Review (My title's so unique :) )

Ok. I gave all the frames a "transparent" affect, got rid of the ad iframe (placed the ad at the top) and gave everything a set size. Does someone think that this is any better?

Site Review (My title's so unique :) )

Oh... My page resizes based on the size of your window/screen and moves mecause my menu does too... I think I can have my menu just have a set length and that should work.. I'll try that...

    which is best for me??

PHP-wise, the preformance is slow, but PHP is supported by most webhosts (free and paid) unlike ASP, and so on. All we can hope for with PHP is that the preformance is improved in later releases.

Site Review (My title's so unique :) )

So will this make it blend in wth the bg? Or will it just make it use the same bg of the main page?

Site Review (My title's so unique :) )

Ok. I changed the coloration. Darkened it a bit, but not so much as to confuse my guests (and it just doesn't look so ugly) So does anyone have some other things I can change?

Site Review (My title's so unique :) )

Yeah... the only reason I even keep the colors is because I can't find anything that works with my bg. And color ideas? And I'm just going to say that if I actually get people coming to the site (and forum) a forum would become unfit as topics would become lost, and locking forums to prevent...

    I'm looking for a countup.

Take a look at hotscripts.com. That is, most of the ones they'd have would be PHP, Flash, or CGI based... You might want to find a new host if yours doesn't support PHP or CGI. I live without CGI, but I don't know how I would survive without PHP...

Site Review (My title's so unique :) )

Site Review I've finally got most of the bugs out of my page so I'd like to get some opinions on how it looks. (Say what you want. I don't really mind if it's a direct insult) Here's the address: http://www.learn-about.uni.cc/

    which is best for me??

ASP is... Well, not thee best. I had set up IIS on my XP Pro install I was never able to connect to some database so no info was ever ssaved aand no installer scripts really worked. I'd say, that at the moment, PHP's preformance is not tne best. On my FC5 server machine, loading the main page...

    need advice

As in a site you can view on mobile phones and PDAs. I can only clarify this- I haven't got the faintest idea of what type of page to use... Something about XML, I think... I'm probably wrong.
