The topic does not really matter either.

It is the resources that the site/system is going to require that will determine whether shared hosting is suitable or not

Yes, plus;

Processor utilisation, sometimes called 'Load Averages'.

Memory usage both average and 'burst'.

Data transfer (NOT the same as 'bandwidth').

Database queries per minute/hour.

Yeah! It's good, but sometimes it depends on hosting server like dedicated servers and others. As per my suggestion it's good and helpful.

Shared hosting is always good for a start up. Moreover you can migrate to a virtual private server at any point of time once you know about the whereabouts of shared hosting.
