Wild Sphere is seeking a new energetic, highly-talented, and motivated Web Designer/Site Administrator to join our growing team. Wild Sphere is a Space Western multimedia project: The original flagship product is a roleplaying game, but the company is also producing a webcomic (based on the company’s own original novellas) that will serve as the basis for a graphic novel. The setting is a Space Western with hard sci-fi elements set in an alternate future, something of a combination of "Mobile Suit Gundam" and "Cowboy Bebop".

Our current web guru, Rachel Heslin, needs to spend more time with her family. After three years, it’s been a great run, and we are very, very grateful to her for all her hard work.

As Web Designer, this individual will be responsible for the design and development of the company’s website, including all the company’s creative, design site templates, and design style guide. As Site Administrator, this individual will be responsible for the twice weekly site updates, and handling ongoing technical and service issues.

First and foremost, what has made Rachel such a valuable addition to the WS team is that, at heart, she is a fan of WS, and we are looking for someone who will similarly love the project. We also seek someone with a user-centric approach to web design, who can make a feature-rich service simple, intuitive, and easy to use and navigate through, and someone with a good artist’s eye. The successful candidate will have a professional attitude, strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines without excessive supervision.

We are looking for someone with the ability to handcode HTML, CSS, javascript, and a knowledge of Photoshop. A knowledge of PHP, latest web technologies, cross browser and platform issues and a background in graphic design would be helpful.

If you are interested, please submit a cover letter and a detailed summary of experience, references, knowledge of anime (including favorite animes/mangas), salary history, salary requirements, and a link to your portfolio web sites, Photoshop images, and Flash animations.

Please email all replies to to [email protected] and include “Web Guru” in the subject line.
