If you designed your website and now you want to add ecommerce capabilities to your web pages you will find that Pay Pal can be of great help. PayPal offers several different methods that will help you provide your web site with ecommerce functions and in this section we are going to talk about two options;
1. PayPal Standard
2. PayPal Pro
But in order to do this we will create a scenario. Let say that you have a brand new website designed and now you want to be able to sell a product through it. You only have2 to 3 products and all you need are for your clients to be able to click on a link and buy your products using a credit card of their choice.
PayPal standard offers a solution for your needs; when you logging to your PayPal administration you will be able to create a button for each one of your products in your website. Using a code generated by PayPal you will find it very simple to add the code to your HTML in your website and integrate a Pay button for each product you have. Once your visitor decides to buy your product he will click on the Pay button by PayPal and he will then be redirected to a special billing web page by PayPal where all the transaction will take place.
This is the standard PayPal system. Now for the Pro version here is the difference; your designer will need to create a payment form just like the ones that other stores use at the end of a check out. This form is the one where your visitor will type his name, address and credit card number and then the form will communicate with PayPal and here comes the beauty of this system; everything will happen in your own website. Unlike the standard system, your visitors once they decide to buy your product they will be redirected to an external page out side of your website. With the Pro version your transaction is handled from and inside of your own website. Of course, there are more expenses in this option since you need to have a developer integrate the form with PayPal and also you need to pay a monthly fee to PayPal for using their 3rd party merchant account system.
