Text Editor Recommendations please....

I've been using the same ole text editor for hard coding, script, etc. since at least 1999 -- 'Programmers File Editor' (PFE). The software serves my needs well enough, but it IS old, and has been out of development/production for a while last I looked, so I'm contemplating adding a new one to my toolbox.

Does anyone out there have any recommendations for a new text editor?

I like Edit Pad.

I use a freeware program called "Crimson Editor". It syntax hilights many languages, has smart indenting and if you cursor over a {, [, ( it will show you the corresponding close }, ], ). Comes in handy when the code gets intricate. You can get it just about from any software downloading site or straight from the author's site http://www.crimsoneditor.com/

Why Not try note pad but i dont use it becouse i found it two complicated
