"Writing software isn't real" - My engineering friend tells me this. I wonder, does he realise that it is in fact more real? That there are more mechanical and electrical processes happening than his robotic arm could even conceive. Let alone the fact that his robotics and other 'real' engineering projects may someday require software to fully function.
I just thought it was interesting and it seems he isn't the only one. There seem to be a lot of people that feel like software is just a fictional and magical hapening going on inside your computer that "anyone can do by googling it and finding a script".
What are your thoughts on the topic? Hopefully there's no one here that feels like software isn't 'real' but it could make for some interesting discussion?
