wondering how to go about making a shop logo. How do you guys start, do you look at similiar logos for ideas? Photos or what?

If i was to pay someone to do a logo what sort of money am i looking at.

Some sites never really make a logo... I think a lot of it has to do with what a real logo does... it's a form of branding...

A lot of what people call logos are basically just little graphics that will change when the site design changes. If you don't need something to brand your product or services, then I wouldn't worry about it too much. For that type you just work until you find something that fits with the design of the rest of your site.

What I did making our logo was "tried them on" until I fould one I thought fit our business for branding purposes. We've been in business since 2001 but the logo has been a part of it only for 2-3 years. For that type logo you basically have to design the site around the logo... a rule which I'm getting ready to break, lol.
