I would search for articles on how to hire an SEO expert. There are a lot of individuals out there who claim to know SEO and really know very little more than you do. Do your research. Additionally, if your site is very young (less than a year) you may want to do things yourself for awhile. It's difficult for young sites to gain traction except for long tail keywords.
