I like the color scheme - it is different.
I love the tool tip in the nav.
I see some inline js - can that be made external? It would help with load times.
I like the sidebar consistency.

When looking at websites now, in my opinion, standing out is crucial. A reason to continually visit one's website has major effects on branding and marketability.

You can look at things from a few perspectives. Here are two:

I like the color scheme being different but I think when you use darker colors, you have to go with more gradient use. The slideshow on the front page, the transition from one color to the other is very "blocky". I think I would prefer a smoother color fade there. Other than that, I like the look of the site and the navigation.
