Promoting a Facebook Group :)

Hi All,

What would be the best way to promote a Facebook group? I advocate a group about mental illnesses here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=65979655729&ref=ts

All suggestions and advise are welcome and I would greatly appreciate your help.

go to relevant forums, participate the discussion and add a link in your signature!

Or search for like minded persons, add as friend and invite them to your group... not that hard once you get to know that person

Promote it in Facebook itself or make a yahoogroup for that. It's also a good idea to join relevant forums to drive traffic to the page.

start blogging and use some podcasts to atract the audience...

Post on blogs and forums. They are indexed faster.

I think the best way of going about that is using the Causes App that they have. I remember getting one of them every 2 days trying to get people to join. So just try that, because a lot of other people once they join, if you tell them to add people, they'll feel compelled too.
