php.ini file help

I have a upload issue. I can only upload 8mb at a time.

Called godaddy and they told me to make a php.ini file and upload it to the root folder.

It didn't work.

Please let me know what is wrong with my php.ini file. I typed it and saved it exactly like this

post_max_size = 64M
upload_max_filesize = 64M

then I saved it as php.ini.txt and uploaded it to the root folder on godaddy. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Rename your file php.ini get rid of the .txt

I did that and it did not work. What does everyone elses php.ini file look like. Have any more ideas what I could try?

I remember doing this and I got it to work after a little struggle,
