    Hi
"I wounder if it is possible to paint with letters" I dont know really how to explain this but ill give it a try. I would like to use a map of the word and then instead of the colors representing boarders and diffrent countries i would like it to bee letters.

eg, i would like to change the green color of russia to letters http://www.mapsofindia.com/worldmap/worldmap.gif ,in a way fill the country with letters instead of color

I know this could be done just by moving texts using the texttool but are there any easier ways? maby this could be done in InDesign?

    A tutorial would be appreciated
Im using Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign

hopefully someone understands what im trying to do
    thanks!

You could create a pattern of a single letter in photoshop and then choose the pattern from your paint bucket tool to fill the outline of the country with the pattern. If you need me to explain I would be happy to do so.

What you do is you make a screen with a good size for the letters you want, whether it be 50x50px for a couple of letters at normal size or a 100x150 for a single word. You create whatever you want the pattern to be on that canvas, in your case you want it to be a word or letter. you make the canvas look like the pattern that you want it to be. then when you have your pattern set you go to edit>define pattern. then you choose a name and the patter will be created. then you go into your original picture of whatever country you want filled in. You have to select the outline of the country and then paint bucket the pattern in. when you choose the paint bucket tool there is an option on the top that says foreground, change it to pattern and choose your pattern from the pattern box. then fill the outline with the pattern and it will automatically fill the outline in with whatever your pattern was. i could try to make a visual tutorial is my explanation skills suck. just ask.

Or you can create an brush of letters, and then brush your map.
You can create different brushes, with different letters. In this way you can fill with anything you want.

Also if you are interested in some vector letters, you can find some kool ones here: http://www.e-maniacs.com/blog/2008/09/15/vector-letters-free/
