New website - Please review

Hey guys, just making a website for a friend and I'm looking for any advice on the design. I haven't got a lot of experience so I'd love to hear any ideas on how to make it more visually interesting, or anything else really!

Oh, and I realise I'm missing a sidebar, but working on that at the moment

you know what, it's not bad! The colors need some spicing up, but a simple gradients in the right spots would help...If that pic is a slider the site will really pop. One more thing - branding is important! That goes for business branding and personal branding. Make sure people know who or what this site is promoting with and appropriate brand (logo, title/name, tagline, any or all of these)

Thanks, yeah I should have said the image will be some sort of jquery slideshow. Regarding colors, does anyone have ideas on what would look good? I'm color blind which makes things a bit difficult =D

It's nice. If the logo in the header were colourful, it would look more complete. Or maybe some colour in the sidebar you are adding.

Personally I dont think the text in the footer should be larger than the text in the body. Also is it using a 3rd font? (one in nav, one in body, one in footer). Maybe one too many.
