i just built this site last night let me know what you think (keep in mind ima newb to this) and any suggestions are very welcome.

Yeah, you should resize and optimize the images.

The main image is 1600x1200 and 1.10 MGs that is way too big..

I know it's the same comment everyone's made so far, but this can't be over-emphasized - Make sure to resize & optimize your images! Other suggestions:

Display links in menu as block;
Add some padding to the reviews page;
This site is a bit plain for my tastes... maybe spice it up a bit w/ some css or graphics (optimized, of course)...

btw: It's AWESOME that you guys are working on viable alternative energy!

As said above, resize and optimize the header image and other images.

Also perhaps add a footer and make the side navigation menu a bit more 'interesting', other than that - looks good.

I like it a lot!
It is very simple, but the photos you have are too large, maybe try resizing them to a more web-friendly format.
I am also not a huge fan of the blue background in the back.
As for the navbar...it seems as though the italics are causing it to shrink repeatedly, I think just an underline hover is enough.
