New Designer - Please criticize

On the links you have an effect that I think would be better if the whole word were to show during the rollover effect... right now, it moves only so far and the word is still incomplete once it begins to move back.

I liked the flash in your portfolio except for one thing... I didn't like the fire effect because it gave me a negative impression(emotional qualitative) rather than a positive one. I'm not crazy about the two websites in your portfolio but on the whole, I think you have talent. When one is working websites, one is subject to the client as well as the artistic and technical aspects.

The images on the portfolio page look of a poor quality, I would improve on that. I know a lot of people like small text, I would experiment with one size up or perhaps a different font.
