Need advice how layout

Hey guys, I'm kind of new to web design and I made the whole thing using html in notepad, so I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on what to add/change in the layout. Thanks

You did a good job on your header, it fits your site well. Just a few (constructive) criticisms. Your navigation menu: http://bancomicsans.com/. Your background needs a little work. Maybe use a photoshop and open a doc that's only one pixel tall and use a gradient or something like that. Then just use repeat-x for the background. Try to not center align all the text on your page. So far, you're off to a good start. Lastly, check out this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defamation.

Your background doesn't seem to join seamlessly. It might need to be trimmed by a pixel or two on the side.
