Well, I recently got a new board for my forums. Ikonboard!

And my old board was IPB and that one died, no one registered, it was a waste of money. :(

could someone please give me suggestions about my new one? also, could you pleeeeease register? you might have a good chance of being a moderator too.

well, here's the board... http://silver-stars.net/forums

I don't want to be a moderator and don't like running boards myself. but here are a couple of suggestions.

The red text on black is extremely difficult to read because it is also small type. You can change it to another color or make it bigger given that the site leans toward Goth.

Another thing it takes to build a forum is focus. It has to have an overall theme and needs to be talked to and up, even if it starts with just a few people. It really takes months and longer to build a forum effectively but it won't grow at all if people don't talk. That's one of the reasons why I can't build forums... sometimes I simply have nothing to say that I think someone will want to hear.

First and foremost, I know that there are a lot of very successful general topic forums online, but your best chance for success is starting a forum which is about a specialised topic. Looking at your forum, it is hard to figure out what it is all about.
You should also make at least one post in each forum category to make the site look a little more busier, and encourage visitors to sign up.
And as stephanie said, the small type is a little hard to read.

Bigger; needs to be easier to read. My eyes went blurry look at the page before I even scrolled to the bottom.

i think it's very cool design
but u need 2 change the red color for text or enlarge the font or u may put a bgcolor for the parts u use the red color for text
and i agree with ian to get more known in no time is 2 specialize but if u r aiming 2 long term success keep it general
