Since you are having a new website, why not make it search engine friendly so you won't be working on it again when you finally decided that you need SEO. Just my advice.

Looks like it's starting to take shape. Are you in the middle of making changes? The nav is in list form on the portfolio and contact pages.

like the logo has the smashingmagazine.com style

The design is good but try working on the alignment and the width of the site is too large, there are lots of vacant spaces.
