I recently deisgned a new site for our electronic components company. We sell thousands of products so I didn't feel the large images, no menus style sites are moving towards didn't seem to work. Also most of our clients aren't too quick to adapt.
Let me know how it looks. Any feedback is appreciated.

First impression is that you should rethink the "slide show" images, so it does not leave a large blank box for about seven seconds when anyone first lands on the page.

Bad website for me..
Not catchy..
Doesn't even look professional...

Suggestion:

Try to hire professional web designers.
Like: Custom Web Design ;)

(Just a suggestion though.
Not forcing you to follow )

Best of luck.

As mentioned in the post what the firm you suggest does is specifically want I do not want. See other sites in the same field, semikron.com, mouser.com, galco.com

It does seem annoying at first. But if you're in the industry and looking for something it's amazing. They're our real competition. Semikron's a supplier and Mouser is more general products.
