Mac Book Retina Display resolution

If the new generation of Macbooks with Retina display has a resolution of 2048 x 1536 px and I design a website to be 2048 px wide, will that look enormous and go off screen on older Macbooks with the 1400 x 900 px displays?

Does this mean I'll need more @media queries?
