How can I make my web pages compatible for Linux from a Windows based server?
Well, the short answer is that web pages aren't dependent on operating systems but on html and other web languages and scripting with some exceptions such as asp (windows). That being said, there's still a whole lot to say but more than can be accomplished in this forum.
I know that soon I'm going to host the site with the Apache kit system. No ASP or ASP.net
yup, but you can use php and mysql instead so it's really just a trade off.
Well, I tried a php forum
and the differences between Linux and Windows were huge
It was awful to browse with Linux. But, I can try to host from my Linux server. MEPIS it is
EDIT: I wonder why ian didn't make you a mod...
Well, for one thing, he doesn't really need any mods right now. For another, I don't like modding forums so would probably turn him down. I hate being responsible for a forum's welfare, if that makes sense. I'm absolutely horrid at building up my own so what good would I be as a mod?
I just though you could be one. But if you hate it, it's ok. It's not a forced job like what your boss is telling to you what to do
