Hey everyone, I'm EXTREMELY new to web design. I've relied on Freewebs when I was in 5th grade, and then Sitespinner, and then Wix.

I'd like to get a bit more deep. I pulled an allnighter last night and learned basic HTML.

I'd like to create fading images similar to those on this site.

I've decided to go with a budget of about $0 for this experiment.

I also am working in notepad, and haven't had too many problems with it (though on Mac I work with Wrangler, because Mac is rather inconvenient for web design I take it).

So, my basic need is: Fading images in notepad, using Javascript or not. Help, please.

If you are working on a Mac with $0 try the freeware Fraise.

Don't be put off by the raspberry!

If you are on Windows try Microsofts web developer express it's a 100% free product and you can create ANY website in it.

Have a Google for jquery slideshows. jquery is easy to use and very powerful.

Also you could achieve this with css3 animation so maybe google that as well.

    Good luck!

I’ve been looking all over the net for some time now and was starting to get irritated.

I would usually begin searching for jQuery solutions to this. What about Nivo Slider?
