Importing Fireworks to text editor...

I have some nav buttons that I want to export to either DW or Notepad ++. When I open it in Notepad it's a skyscraper of hyroglyphics. In DW I'm wanting to put it in my .htm file but as yet don't know how. I'm fairly noob at design and html.

You might want to come a bit more upto date and use CSS 'Sprites' instead of 'slicing' images.
