Image hosting and permissions

Hello all,

Forgive me. This is a super newbie question, but that's how we learn

I have an image on a server - ftp://[email protected]/public_html/wp-admin/images/ACU(tm)_CMYK.jpg

However, I am asked for a password when I try to access it within my browser. I simply want to host it on this server and display the image on the site?

What am I missing?

That's because FTP (File Transfer Protocol) normally requires a password to access the files and folders.

And unless the image IS YOURS TO USE FREELY or you have permission to use it, you cannot just grab it and use it.

If you ARE allowed to use it you should use the anonymous HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) to reference it.
