** I want to make this, but I can't wrap my head around jQuery **

I want to add a scrollbox like this for my contacts page. When it scrolls to the different logos (such as Youtube, facebook, etc), I want the user to be able to click and take them to that page.

The only problem is that I've been reading about jQuery, but I just can't seem to wrap my head around it. Can someone get me started on how to make this?
