how to do website editing

i am a newbie here.

would appreciate if anyone can give advice on this.

how do i edit an existing website?


if i were given a website, how do i use it as a template?


any advice is appreciated. :)

you can just open the .htm/.html files in a website editor like microsoft frontpage or macromedia dreamweaver, and make changes whilst retaining the same layout.

If you're a complete newbie, I highly recommend starting with a really, really simple program. Frontpage (the old version) and Microsoft Expressions are great programs to utilize when you want to create .html websites. One of the reasons why I enjoy those programs so much is because it's hard to create erroneous or cluttered pages. Clean code is a major factor in web design -- especially if you want to SEO your site.
