how should we design our site with psychological aspect

suppose we have text link on our site.
text link name is say ecommerce solutions.
instead of text links we can put images, but the question is how should we design image or page that visit might inspire to link on that image on the page?

how can we design inspirational images ?
can any one guide me with proper information guides.

The way I see it, you can either replicate the text in image form, create symbols to represent the link content or a combination of both.

A good concept to try is to create very simple icons that are displayed as normal. When the user moves the mouse over them, the icon is replaced with an image with text.
