So far it is doing well. I get quality backlinks and huge traffic using these methods. If you want to effectively optimize your website you have to be actively interacting with people on the web by joining forums and interacting with them, comment in blogs, write relevant and good quality articles. SEO nowadays is about building good relationship and trust with people and Google. In short, it is about CREDIBILITY. And please, stop spamming it will not do any good for your site.
