Highlighted Google Map from Google Places on Website?

I am trying to figure out how to simply add a highlighted Google Map form Google Places on to a website. All the Google info focuses on exact locations but my client has a service area that is highlighted on their Google places map. How do I get this map on to their website? Do I need to just contact Google Maps API or what?

If you mean the map that is shown when a user does a search for the business in Maps, you can just right click on it and copy the link address to paste onto another page. But if you mean the map that appears with a highlighted service area radius when you edit a listing, it does not seem to be copyable. But, as you suggested you might find exactly what you want in the Google Maps API.
