I suggest you buy an image that looks exactly they way you want it. If you calculate the time it takes to create a trully profesisonal looking image, versus spending $12-20 dollars, really the 12-20 dollars makes more sense.
Besides, it is the image of your company.
The image looks cheap and baldy made.

not only is it an odd concept but the pic you provided looks like somone scooping out an overflowing cat litter tray. sorry but thats what I see.

scale it down to 100x100 pixels - is it still recognisable?
make a black and white version - does it still convey the same message?
can is stand alone without either a company name/tagline?
it will need to fulfil all of these requirements.
simplicity is definitely the key. that image is all wrong and will only serve to make you (or your client) look unprofessional.

yeah right! It's the simplicity that counts! Logos must be simple enough to convey the products/message you want to reach into people mind or eyes!

All tomfoolery aside, i really think your concept is too complex for a logo, unless maybe you can find a professional that really knows what they are doing to simplify it, vectorize it, and still have it be recognizable.
Maybe consider some other plays... like a creamy ice-cicle? or an ice cube made out of cream... dripping? I really don't know.
