Good way to add a mailto: (so the spam bots don't find it)

I want to have my contact info on my site but I would rather not receive tons of spam on the account. I have managed to keep it very clean so far - I maybe get 1 spam a week. I am not going to put my 'main' email address in the site, I will create one like [email protected]...

Anyway, I am assuming that adding a standard mailto anchor is going to get picked up by the bots pretty quickly. Are there any standards or popular ways of avoiding this?

Im sure something can be done with javascript, but as I am not a web designer and am only making my own site for my portfolio, I don't plan on learning js.

I've never really thought much about this, but a little JavaScript should ensure that your E-mail address is only visible to people with a common browser. After a quick Google search I found this site: http://csarven.ca/hiding-email-addresses. It seems to have at least half a dozen ways of concealing your E-Mail. Hope this helps!
