Well there has been a fair amount of spam here lately, mostly jokes with drug links in the footer.
I took a look at the settings, and new users registering were not required to confirm their registration via a confirmation email. This has since been changed so that they do need to confirm their registration via email, so hopefully it may cut down on some of the annoying autobot spam.

At least you got jokes. I'd prefer that over the stupid things they say in my blog. SpamKarma works pretty good but even at high settings it's not catching that kind of junk while it will catch other comments that are bonafide. I had to pull one from Suz out of it.
