Format of several websites is screwed up

I'm not sure where to ask this question. Let me know if there is a better place.

They are several websites whose content I can't see because the css seems to be messed up. Several of which are io9, kotaku, and twitter. It has been this way for months and I have no idea why this is happening. Any ideas?

I'm using chrome but I get the exact same problem in firefox. I never made any changes to the settings. What would effect something as specific as styling?
