I am having a website built and wondering if I am being given a fair price. I want like three pages set up like a small version of youtube, where people can upload videos, search for most popular videos, search by username, etc. Can anyone give me a general idea on what I should pay for something like this?

It all depends on what you want to go on those three pages. Many designers charge a minimum fee upwards of $1,000. Add to that any flash that is being made, and special logos that are created, etc. Plus, the dynamic content that has to be accounted for as well as the file uploading and displaying and the user login is going to cost extra. I don't know the exact details of this project, but it seems like it could easily be well over $3,000.
