It is too much design, for the main text area, you should at least use a plain one color background, at the moment it looks too busy.

Yeah i have to agree, also the colours aren't good together, if you have a dark background have a light font colour, vice versa.

Same with ian and cohen's comment, when you look at the menu bar, it seems like they're fading and it's hard on eyes
