Editable HTML Slices from Photoshop

Once a web page template is designed, sliced and exported in html and images from Photoshop, using a simple text editor (i.e. not DW), how do any given slices get transformed into editable regions? I saw a tutorial on how to do it in Dreamweaver by cutting and pasting then deleting, but are there any tutorials on how to move from Photoshop to editable html regions in PS designed templates?

editable regions are a dreamweaver thing, you cant have them in other html editors, as are dreamweaver templates
