Ecommerce Mouseover Fabric Changes

How do ecommerce site get those fabric changes on a sofa where the same sofa has different fabrics when you mouse over? Is it done with Photoshop and if so, is it hard to do?

I'm pretty sure this is something that has to be set up either in the CMS or by using PHP/a JQuery Script. Then you would have to have multiple pictures of the couch in the alternate fabrics. Not entirely sure, but figure a guess of a response is better than no response at all.
