DREAMWEAVER problem! :/

ok.. so i have my website that im building..

http://www.downandoutdesigns.com

right now its just the under construction picture..

i can view my page when i upload the updated index.html and stylesheet.css to my romote server..

but when im in local view.. and try to view my page in firefox.. using the little world icon to preview page in browser...

nothing comes up by a white screen and the words i put in for my footer copyright thing.. >:O

its making me mad..

what is going on, and how can i fix it..

this is my 3rd day of learning web design stuff.. soo take it easy.. if this was a stupid question! :]

Is this problem occurring in multiple browsers? If it works in others, then we can know that the problem is with the browser preferences.

If you are previewing in IE, try adjusting these settings:
I don't have my windows machine near me, so you may need to paraphrase these directions.

1. Start IE
2. In the menu bar, click Tools > Internet Options.
3. Click the advanced tab.
4. Navigate to the security section. There should be a few options, something along the lines of "Allow active content to run in files on my computer." (Remember, I don't have my windows machine with me, so I'm just trying to go off memory ). Click the box next to this option to turn it on.
5. Quit Internet explorer and then reload for changes to take effect.
