DIVS or Tables

Please i want to know , Which is better to use? "div" or "tables" and why?

Divs... tables are such an outdated design method. You wont get too far with web design now if you use tables as divs are so much more flexible, a lot quicker and better for browser compatability.

ditto on div tags. much better for search engine recognition

Tables are fixed to a grid system which is great for forums, where the content always stays in a grid formation. Divs are better for general layout purposes since they can be moved independently of one another and are therefore easier to rearrange and manipulate.

I find that I get better cross browser compatibility using tables. But this isn't a one or the other proposition, I often use both div's and tables in my designs.
