I've been asked to create a dvd that contains PDF's and audio files, but the client wants these files contained in an interactive menu. So basically there would be a page with links that open files. The menu has to be aesthetically pleasing though. Any ideas what software I could use to create this, besides Flash? By the way the disc needs to run on both Mac and PC.

there are plenty of DVD authoring tools out there.
most of them, if not all of them allow you to custom design the menus/backgrounds

use a tool thats designed for the job, rather than trying to "fudge" it with a flash or html interface.

that way you wont need to worry about mac/pc issues with autoplay etc...

this one is free but I've never used it so I've no idea if its any good.

At the other end of the price scale is Adobe Director but that's something of an industrial heavyweight.
