Crazy! Server deleting .htaccess file

I have an application in a subdirectory. Before, I had an .htaccess file in there, but now, the server keeps the .htaccess file, but deletes the contents.

this is nuts.

anyone have have suggestions.

p.s.: i have hidden files enabled, so that's not the cause.

Something in your site scripts might be wrong. Or have you contacted your service provider regarding this issue? They can help you solve that.

This sounds strange. You may wish to contact your hosting provider about this

In the meantime, try deleting the file, ftp it up again, then change permissions to 0444. Server won't have modify perms then.
