cost efficient ways of building a simple website??

Im trying to make a very straight to-the-point website. But i cant afford to pay a web designer.

Are there any shortcuts? Im a complete noob to web building in everyway possible.

I want to build a site that can host my music,pictures, update my show dates, and a tab for my blog.

Is this hard to do by myself? Thanks!

Agree, but in case of one site, that is built and maintained by one person, I would suggest Wordpress. It's the easiest. The others are aimed more at several individuals being able to contribute to a site, each with specific rights.

All three are great but I prefer WordPress myself. If you don't have a lot of experience with web design the WordPress is the way to go. The interface is simple and with a large open source community you can find many free plug-ins to accomplish your goals. There are also many themes available to give your site a little more of a custom feel.
