Hi, I'm a web designer proficient in HTML and CSS but I'd like to become more advanced and learn CMS, How do I do this? and how hard would it be? Any tips anyone?
And I'm planning to do a Wordpress course, is this necessary?

CMS is not a language to learn like HTML and CSS, so do you mean you want to learn how to DEVELOP templates for Content Management Systems?

Designing the "look and feel" of a layout is the same no matter what the end use of it is.

I suppose you're confusing PHP with CMS? Perhaps you've seen PHP associated with a CMS and assumed that it was a language. If you did confuse the two, it'd be beneficial to know that PHP is (correct me if I'm wrong - Chris :p) probably the language you're wanting to learn, considering it is used to power 'most' or at least many current content management software on the market - and is also what Wordpress runs on, which is what you're taking?

I personally wouldn't bother with courses, etc. If your passion lies deep enough, you'll pick it up from documentation and lots of dabbling. But that's me :)
