I have a website that uses fixed content proportions in the middle and an expandable background image to cover all the rest.
To my big surprice everything works great in IE7/8 and Safari but not in FF (I knew this dark day will come). The moment I use a background image there is a bug in FF that makes the mouse scrolling go very unsmooth and choppy.
The only solutions I can find are local fixes e.g.:
http://www.ghacks.net/2008/06/28/fix-choppy-scrolling-in-firefox/
Does anybody have a solution that ensures everybody has a good mouse experience without changing anything locally?
P.s. Don't use background-image is not the solution I'm looking for
