Does anyone know what is a reasonable amount of monthly traffic to have before trying to charge businesses for advertising on your site? My website will be local to my city and I've thought about targeting some related businesses to advertise on my site but didn't know if I'd need to show at least 5000 subscribers, etc to the site before they'd pay.

I'd even thought of offering the ads for free until I hit a certain number of subscribers and then charging by the month or year...

Any thoughts?

This is depend on the add google pay to site owner by PPC and CPM and the most beneficial thing for site owner is google always prefer to PR pages.

I think you need to have atleast per day 500-1,000 unique visitors before opening your site for advertising spaces. The higher the traffic, the better. No companies will be interested in a site without that kind of traffic.
